Stinging Nettle Discussion:

A very special herb that we are proud to wildcraft! This allows us to offer full-spectrum, seed only, or both variations! This herb is known for its sting when it is touched. It is said that wherever it grows, its counterpart, jewelweed may also be near. The American Indians were known to use jewelweed to counteract the sting it was named after. For educational purposes, here is a photo of jewelweed, which is NOT edible. Please do your own research and get a reliable ID before using plants in this manner:

Stinging Nettle has been used as a tonic since long ago. It has many digestive benefits. It is known for cleansing and toning the kidneys and urinary tract system as well.

It has many uses and is considered as a fundamental herb. The entire plant, except for the root, is covered in tiny little hairs, shaped like millions of tiny needles, made of silicon and very brittle. The tip of each hair contains a round crystal, that when touched or brushed against, it is pushed off and the needle then enters the skin.

As a matter of fact, it is my “go-to” herb to suggest to others with chronic sensitivities and allergies. When it stings, it releases anesthetic, histamine, and serotonin molecules, which stimulate pain neurons. This is the process behind one of its main uses, which is for pain and inflammatory support. It is also a top herb used for support with allergies and sensitivities.

I have found that the needles seem to know fear and intention. When I get stung, I experience numb fingers for nearly 12 hours. It is almost as if I have gotten use to it and when I have no fear, grabbing it out of the ground, it seems to sting less. When I am nervous and cautious, it gets the best of me.

Stinging Nettle is also used by others for its immune-boosting and lymphatic cleansing. I also utilize it in remedies for support with mast cell disorders, sensitivities, hormonal imbalances, dense nutrition, and histamine issues. It is considered to be a “superfood” for its vitamin and mineral content! It is also a powerful diuretic, promoting urination, sweating, and the release of toxins from the body.

It may also lower uric acid and oxalates. Oxalates can accumulate to create large, spiky, hard substances that cause pain by piercing the nerves. Uric acid is known as a main culprit in gout. It is an ideal treatment for urinary tract infections! It is also a known blood pressure decreasing remedy, due to its flavonoid, iron, and potassium content, which also help to promote circulation of the blood stream. Some of its compounds are amazing protectors and strengtheners of the heart. It is also often used by sufferers of diabetes, as it is said to have a compound that acts like insulin, helping to regulate and control blood sugar levels.

It may offer support with osteoarthritis as well. Stinging nettle contains minerals that may help to increase bone density and strength. It is one of the most popular remedies for support with pain, arthritis, joint pain, and arthritic issues. It is highly used for menstrual ailments associated with cramping, heavy bleeding, and related abdominal pains. It may help to flush and cleanse the blood as well. It is said to be supportive for the pancreas. It may help your body to purge excess weight as well. It is a also a known remedy for prostate support. It may keep testosterone active, acting as a modulator for testosterone. It is said to keep premature ejaculation from occurring and it is used by many as an aphrodisiac. It may ultimately be one of the best skin remedies available to us, surprisingly with its intense sting. It contains many of the constituents that the skin craves.

Stinging nettle is a smokeable herb. It is used in blends to smooth it out.

The herbal tea, or capsules, may be the best way to use stinging nettle. They say a cup of tea, every day for a month each year, may be a great way to maintain all the above. This also allows you to have leaf on hand, in case of it being needed as a poultice. Even the dry leaves can provide that famous sting! The fact that we wildcraft ours, ensures that you are getting the best quality available!

Product Variations:

We offer every herb in multiple variations. For example, you can get it as a standard tincture, oxygenated tincture, glycerite, herbal tea, encapsulated, or as a loose powder. We highly recommend getting at least two variations of the preferred blend, to achieve saturation.

Standard Tincture Herbal compounds extracted in an alcohol base. Alcohol may offer superior absorption rates. We recommend allowing your dose to sit under the tongue for 3+ minutes, then swallowing it down with water or juice.  Microscopic compounds are bioavailable, readily available to be absorbed through tissues, into the bloodstream, then circulated to the organs. We wildcraft aerial parts of calendula, in flower, and grind it down to tincture.

Oxygenated Tincture – This is a standard tincture that is put through an oxygenation process, adding an oxygen molecule to the present herbal compounds. We collide the herbal compounds with oxygen molecules, to encase them both within an oxygenated bubble. The difference can be clearly seen because the tincture lightens in color. The lipospheres’ may have the capability to surpass the bioavailability of a standard tincture, although it exhibits all of the same benefits. We wildcraft aerial parts of calendula, in flower, and grind it down to tincture.

Glycerite – Herbal compounds extracted in vegetable glycerin. This variation is ideal for children and those sensitive to the alcohol because it has no alcohol, no sugar. It has a taste resembling syrup. Doses are approximately 2-3 times higher than a tincture so that you receive similar benefits. They can be taken in the same way as tinctures, which is in 4 oz. of water, juice, or a smoothie. We wildcraft aerial parts of calendula, in flower, and grind it down to create glycerites with them.

Vegetarian Capsule – Size 00, vegetarian capsules, hand-encapsulated, to order. The capsule is swallowed with at least 4 oz. of water or juice. Agrimony grinds down to a fluffy powder. We wildcraft aerial parts of calendula, in flower, and grind it down to encapsulate.

Herbal TeaTea bags are handmade to order. Each bag can be brewed up to three times. Constituents will be continually extracted with each brew. Be sure to squeeze the bag gently upon finishing your cup of lovely tea. The label specifies the brewing instructions, which highly depends on the parts of the plant that are used in the tea. It may be best to drink as is, without adding a sugar substitute. Don’t forget the medicinal residue that settles to the bottom of the cup! We wildcraft aerial parts of calendula, in flower, and grind it down to bag as herbal tea.

Loose Herbal Powder – We take pride in the freshness and quality of our herbs. They are hand-ground, to order. Most of our herbs are wildcrafted by us. If we must purchase them, we first choose them in their whole form. We feel that ethically wildcrafted is superior, ensuring a denser content of medicinal compounds, freshness, as well as higher enzymatic/antioxidant activity. Wildcrafting also allows us to include as many parts as possible. We always indicate wildcrafted with the abbreviation “WC”. We wildcraft aerial parts of calendula, in flower, and grind it down to order.

Skin Salve – Our oil-based salve base that we use is the same as our Remed~Ease salve base and scented with our Calendula essential oil. It contains bloodroot and the resins of frankincense & myrrh. We wildcraft the aerial parts of calendula and infuse the salve, to order.

Infused Oil – We delicately infuse sunflower oil with the wildcrafted, aerial parts of calendula, in flower. It is scented with our Calendula essential oil.

Organic Soap – We offer infused, organic soap in 8 oz. portions. This is two 4 oz. bars. It is scented with our Calendula essential oil. We wildcraft the aerial parts in flower of calendula and infuse our soap, to order.

All variations are animal & child-safe, at the appropriate dosage. It is up to you to do your own research to know if the herbs themselves are safe for the babes. We have created a child’s herbal dosage guide, which can be seen by Clicking Here

Always use herbs wisely and with common sense, as they are to be respected. Most of our herbs and products have been tested by an energetic practitioner, using a bio resonance scanning system.
