Torilis japonica Discussion:

Torilis japonica is a very rare plant in the United States. Selling of the whole, intact seed has been banned in the US for years, due to its highly invasive nature. Our source seems to be offer multiple variations. There have been times when we could only get a concentrated extract, which is light tan color, while other times only full spectrum was available, which is dark brown. The full spectrum variation also includes the seed of torilis japonica.

This year, we have a small harvest of live, fresh torilis plants! While supplies last, we will be offering the fresh, live plant tinctures, which may be the most potent way to take torilis. As far as I can tell, we are the only source to obtain live, fresh plant products! We add seeds to the fresh plant tinctures, to ensure some torilin content.

It is in the family of the “Umbrella Plants”, which are known to be some of the most superior herbs on the planet like Angelica and Queen Anne’s lace. It is also known as “Upright Hedge Parsley”. As far as we can tell, we were the first ones in the United States to offer it. We first learned about it after reading Stephen Buhner’s books, which suggested it for Toxoplasmosis support, yet he didn’t list a source. We have sought it out from all over the world. We have gone through hoops to get it!

Japanese hedge parsley has been known for its use in Chinese traditional medicine (TCM), which uses it to support hemorrhoids, spasm, uterine tumors, fever, and dysentery. Studies have shown that it may help to fight many types of cancers. We have read that it may be 10 x’s stronger and more protective than milk thistle when it comes to liver support! It is used by others for fatty liver support as well.

The main compound within the seed, torilin is being intensely studied for its anti-cancer effects. It is packed with flavonoids. Wikipedia tells us that it has been shown to be a potent inhibitor of 5-alpha-reductase, an enzyme that converts testosterone to DHT. It has been shown to inhibit the growth of blood vessels in tumor development. It also has been found to inhibit the conversion of testosterone to androgen. It is also being studied for alopecia treatment.

Currently, this herb for support for Lyme Disease, its coinfections, candida and other fungal infections, and now for Rope Worm as well!

This herb is multi-dimensional, possibly offering support with many types of pathogens. It has compounds that are considered to be anti-parasitic, anti-fungal, anti-inflammatory, and anti-viral. It is also considered to be a soothing tonic and an expectorant, which is mucus and respiratory purging support. This wide range of benefits may indicate its superiority. We are told that in Korea it may be used medicinally for things like amnesia, pruritis, acidosis, and scabies. This tells us that it may be highly supportive if used topically as well.

Product Variations:

We offer every herb in multiple variations. For example, you can get it as a standard tincture, oxygenated tincture, glycerite, herbal tea, encapsulated, or as a loose powder. We highly recommend getting at least two variations of the preferred blend, to achieve saturation.

Standard Tincture – Herbal compounds extracted in an alcohol base. Alcohol offers a superior absorption rate. We recommend allowing your dose to sit under the tongue for 3+ minutes, then swallowing it down with a drink of water. Otherwise, you may add it to 4 oz. of water, juice, or a smoothie. Microscopic compounds are readily available to be absorbed through tissues, into the bloodstream, and then circulated to organs.

Herbosomal/Lipospheric Tincture – This is the standard tincture, put through an energetic process. We collide the herbal compounds with oxygen and essential oil molecules, entrapping them within an oxygenated bubble. The process can be seen because the tincture lightens in color. The lipospheres’ may have the capability to surpass the bioavailability of a standard tincture, although it exhibits all of the same benefits.

Glycerite – Herbal compounds extracted in vegetable glycerin. This contains NO alcohol and NO sugar. The taste of glycerin resembles syrup, which makes it ideal for children. This version may be best for those highly sensitive or are seeking a nonalcoholic extraction. Doses may need to be up to three times higher than a tincture to receive similar benefits. They can be taken in the same way as tinctures, which is in 4 oz. of water, juice, or a smoothie.

Vegetarian Capsule – Size 00, vegetarian capsules, hand-encapsulated, to order. The capsule is swallowed with at least 4 oz. of water or juice.

Herbal Tea – Tea bags are handmade to order. Each bag can be brewed up to three times. Constituents will be continually extracted with each brew. Be sure to squeeze the bag gently upon finishing your cup of lovely tea. The label specifies the brewing instructions, which highly depends on the parts of the plant that are used in the tea. It may be best to drink as is, without adding a sugar substitute. Don’t forget the medicinal residue settled at the bottom of the cup!
