Castor Discussion:

The benefits of both hydrosol and HydroTea™ depend on the plant. Before we get to that, let’s briefly discuss castor itself. If your more interested in the difference between Hydrosol Solutions™ and HydroTea™, which are important to understand, skip below.

Firstly, we only offer the hydrosol of castor currently. To quickly mention the top 3 benefits of castor would be that one of its main uses is for it being the main source of undecylenic acid. As a matter of fact, many in the modern healing world say that undecylenic acid is something that has helped them, especially with fungal infections like Candida! However, natural sources are not normally found for undecylenic acid.

Undecylenic acid is a compound derived from distilling or heating of the castor plant. Castor hydrosol would have the same benefits as the popular castor oil.

Castor is well known to support pain, muscles and joint issues like arthritic conditions, menstrual pain, improving skin tone and texture, bruises, and for the healing of minor wounds. Many brand name creams, salves, liquids, and capsules can be found.

Currently many are using castor hydrosol distillate for support with eye issues, such as cataracts. It is known to help relieve dry eyes, allergy symptoms within the eye, parasitic infections of the eyes, helping with torn films, and aiding with meibomian gland functioning.

This is a plant that one should use cation with and to do your own research!

Hydrosol & HydroTea™ Discussion:

The biggest question we get is what the difference is between the two. Most that know about herbals understand what hydrosol is but even those individuals have never heard of what we call HydroTea™. This is because most have never heard of keeping the concentrated liquid left over from the distillation process. We are the first to utilize the concentrated “Aus jus” created in the distilling process! We have always been known as pioneers that have thought outside the box to create new, effective remedies and this is an example! Most companies do not know its value as we do!

The steam distillation process results in three different liquids. As the mother vat containing water and herbs begins to boil, it creates a steam. The steam is quickly cooled, solidifying it back to a liquid state, containing the plant’s compounds and essential oil. The essential oil is normally what most distillers’ desire, and it is separated and removed from the hydrosol. However, we do it differently! We do not take the essential oil out of the hydrosol. It is not what we are after!

Amazingly, the hydrosol steam conversion creates a naturally collided suspension of the vitamins, nutrients, acids, essential oils, aromatic compounds, and other soluble constituents. This means that the essential oils disperse throughout the entire bottle and are ready for use and bioavailable. We feel that you may get more out of this product with the natural essential oils intact!

Hydrosol is used for skin, as an air freshener, or sanitizing spray. If the plant is edible, the hydrosol is as well. We suggest that when you plan to use a hydrosol in your daily regimen, orally, that you get it in a dropper bottle and add it to your water daily. It can be used as much as you feel the need to use it.

On the other hand, the HydroTea™ can be used as an as needed only concentrated shot or it is amazing to use to make your herbal tea. As a 1 oz. shot it should only be used when symptoms are present. However, by adding 2 droppers of HydroTea to a hot cup of water, you can make a traditional strength cup of tea! You can make 14 cups of tea out of every 1 oz of HydroTea! Imagine having a strong cup of herbal tea instantly, anytime you choose without having to brew it!

Another difference is that the hydrosol is clear, powerfully scented, and non-sticky, making it great to use as a linen or room spray. The HydroTea™ is unscented, dense, dark, and sticky, as any herbal extract may be. It would be a bad idea to spray it throughout the home! Other than the color and density, both can still be used in many similar ways!

Generally, either of them can be used to make a cup of herbal tea. No matter which you choose, it would still contain herbal compounds. Hydrosol offers invisible, yet still potent benefits, while the HydroTea™ would give tea a hint of color. They can both be used on the skin; however, the hydrosol may be best, offering trace amounts of essential oils that are ready for use.

Be reminded to ONLY use these products as edibles, ONLY if the plant itself is edible. Please do your own research and get to know the herbs you plan to use beforehand. Also, be sure to consult with your practitioner if you are on medications, just as you would any herb that you plan to use orally.

Keep both products refrigerated to extend its shelf life and to chill your facial/body spray, making it refreshingly cool!
