Description

Melatonin is a potent antioxidant, normally produced by the pineal gland. It helps our body to maintain overall health, stimulating relaxation and sleep. It supports the proper functioning of the central nervous system as well. With age, our melatonin levels decrease.

Melatonin production is related to the time of the day, as when it is dark, higher levels are produced to keep our internal clock accurate and balanced. When we are exposed to light, the production is lowered, which blocks production. Many believe their pineal gland has been compromised, which may affect melatonin production, as well as our ability to heal and maintain homeostasis within the body. It has a pleasant citrus flavor and comes as a liquid solution in a dropper bottle or as an oral spray. Optimal absorption may be reached by placing it on, or under, the tongue. It may cause drowsiness. Find your own, individual dose by starting low and working up. Use it at a time that allows a full night sleep of 8 hours or more. It may take 30 or more minutes to receive any effects. We suggest finding your own dose and maintaining it. Too much melatonin may have the opposite results.
